Storage Details / Frais de Stockage

Import container storage fees at Termont Montréal terminal. Fees apply from the first day after the free period ends. Review the pickup requirements below before arriving at the gate.

  Storage Fees

Storage fees are calculated in calendar days from the day after the 5-day free period expires. The first day of the free period starts the day after vessel discharge.

⚠️ Storage Transfer Policy: During periods of congestion, any import container having stayed more than 10 days at our terminals may be targeted for a transfer. A fee of per container applies for local trucking.

  Pickup Requirements

Before arriving at the terminal gate to retrieve your import container, ensure all of the following conditions are met:

  • Container must be released from Canadian customs
  • Valid pickup number provided by the shipping company
  • Booking number or vessel name and voyage number
  • All outstanding storage fees must be paid in full
  • Schedule your appointment between 6 AM and 10 PM

Please verify container availability on the Termont website. Receipt and delivery of import containers is subject to terminal capacity and operating conditions.

Tax Notice — International Movements

Fees related to international container movements (import/export) are exempt from GST/QST pursuant to the Excise Tax Act (Canada) and the Act respecting the Québec sales tax. International maritime transportation and related terminal handling services qualify as zero-rated supplies under Schedule VI of the Excise Tax Act.

Domestic movements and ancillary services (e.g., local drayage, re-handling) may be subject to applicable taxes. Please refer to your invoice for the detailed tax breakdown.
